Welcome to my blog!

Hello there and welcome! I am super excited to see you here and want to thank you for taking the time to read what I have to share!

I would like to dedicate my first blog post to my story and explain how I became a makeup artist. Hope I don't bore you to death haha!

So my name is Alina and currently I live in Saskatoon SK Canada where I work as a freelance makeup artist. I come from Belarus (that's in Europe) originally. My husband and I moved to Canada 5 years ago and we love it here lots. Right now I feel like I was born here and have lived my whole life in this beautiful country - but that's not the theme of my blog.

I became a makeup artist about three years ago and before that I used to be a teacher - taught at a University in Europe and then elementary school in Canada. I liked my job but I have always felt like maybe I am not doing exactly what I have a vocation for. You know this feeling when you come to work but feel like you'd rather be somewhere else? I noticed that I get way more excited about creating a poster board than actually teaching the subject and that's when I started questioning what I would like to do with my future.

Leaving on a maternity leave with my second boy gave me some time to think and to try and find the sphere I would feel like myself. I have loved all things beauty ever since I was a little girl. I remember shivering with excitement when I got my first lipstick! So it didn't take long for me to realize that I would love to be a makeup artist. I have always loved painting and drawing and art in general - and makeup is just painting people's faces and making them feel beautiful! I love boosting other people's self confidence! I love meeting new people and learning their stories! I love buying makeup (maybe too much according to my husband)! So that was it!

I took the course to become a certified makeup artist and started building my kit and clientele right away! I am very determined once I set my mind on something! I love every minute I get to spend with my lovely clients and all the people I got to meet in this amazing industry - the talented hair stylists, beautiful models and photographers! I am so grateful for the creative opportunities that this profession has brought into my life - from working on set shooting commercials and music videos to doing Halloween makeup. I love it all and I can say that I am truly happy now!

This career has given the outlet to my creative energy and has allowed me to spend more time with my kids as well. I am a busy mom of three little boys and just a woman who can relate to so many of us jiggling the career, kids and trying to stay beautiful and successful at the same time. I sometimes need a drink at 9.00 am (no I'm not an alcoholic ha ha) just trying to get through the day but I am very grateful for all the things in my life! I keep learning every day and the aim of this blog is to share all the things I discover with all of you!

I will talk about makeup, review the products I get to use, share some makeup and beauty tips! So if you are interested in any of this hope you will stick around! Feel free to share the blog and comment! It would mean the world to me!
